Framework Communications CEO John Fakhoury Speaks with SCORE Chicago
Meet John Fakhoury, owner of Framework Communications and Featured Business Owner at SCORE Chicago this week. Learn about his business growth and what tips he has for your success.
What is your company’s elevator pitch?
Framework reinvents technology by reinventing how it connects the client with technology.
Who are your clients, and give an example of how you served that person or business?
We work with small to mid-sized companies throughout the Midwest with a focus on the Chicagoland area. Our clients range from Rush University Medical Hospital to The Archdiocese of Chicago to Signature Room on the 95th floor, to the BBB. As a homegrown business, we understand the trials and tribulations inherent to running a small business and work with each client to ensure we sell only what their solution requires. We support them by delivering aCareFree IT experience, ensuring their technology is working for them so they can run their businesses successfully.
What is your most successful sales strategy?
We listen to our clients, their needs and work with them to create a solution which supports them immediately while also anticipating future needs and growth. We strive to provide excellent customer service because much of our new business has grown via referrals from current, satisfied clients. Ultimately, I believe we’re successful because of the emphasis we place on customer service and redefining the relationship people have with technology. We make IT seamless, so it fades into the background of our clients’ daily concerns allowing it to become a tool for growth and success that it should be rather than the headache it is for so many.
Who is your Mentor and how have they helped you in your business?
Peg Corwin was immensely helpful in listening to us and helping us plan for Framework’s future via innovative marketing techniques. Peg helped us define our client base and build a strategy around it which in turn built our advertising and marketing plan. More than anything, she confirmed we were on the right track and worked with us to ensure the road we’re on is a smooth one.
I believe in knowing where you’re going and creating a roadmap – books like “From Good to Great” by Jim Collins help us understand what’s worked for major companies, what hasn’t and provides ideas we can implement into our business model.
What is the most important lesson you have learned in business that might help others?
You are only as good as your people. All people are fallible; we have good days and bad days so it’s important to foster a supportive environment that never views people through their mistakes but through their potential and determination instead. Support your people and your people will support you, it really is that simple.
