Framework Supports the Business Sense Behind Hiring Our Veterans

Blog Posts

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz recently stated Veterans Day “has been turned into a weekend sale” and that more needs to be done to understand the military experience to support our veterans.

At Framework Communications, we believe more needs to be done to ensure opportunities to our veterans after they take off the uniform for the final time. We know it’s about more than altruism, showing support by hiring our veterans is simply good business. Veterans offer leadership readiness at every level, maintain composure and creativity under pressure while providing a Big Picture understanding alongside bringing the ultimate team player mentality to the table.

We also know actions speak louder than words.

That’s why this year, our CEO and Founder, John Fakhoury, made a commitment to supporting veterans in the workplace by joining the Illinois Hires Heroes Consortium. The IHHC is a group of Illinois employers who recognize the great value veterans bring to the workplace and commit to becoming “veteran-friendly” by implementing a series of military veteran recruitment, training, and retention practices. We went a few steps further and established our On-The-Job Training Program with the Illinois Department of Veterans and then collaborated with the incredible nonprofit National Able to create an additional externship work-experience program for veteran graduates of their IT programs.

As a Board member of the Student Veterans of America – Illinois Chapter, John works tirelessly to help veterans succeed in higher education, achieve their academic goals and gain meaningful employment in all companies, not just our own. He uses Framework Communications as a platform to speak passionately on the subject at veteran symposiums in hopes that fellow business owners join the IHHC and begin tapping into our nation’s most underused resource.

This Veterans Day, we give thanks to our veterans by offering them support to achieve success after they’ve served our country.
